About Us

Training that fits a real household

Balkan Programs started from a simple observation: most dog owners do not fail because they lack willpower. They fail because the advice they are given assumes a quiet training hall, an hour of free time, and a dog with no history.

Real life is a hallway, a doorbell, a lead that pulls, a dog that hears its name and carries on regardless. So we built the programme around that instead — short sessions, ordinary rooms, and the walks you were going to take anyway.

How we train

Everything we publish is reward-based. We teach dogs what to do rather than punish what they have already done, because it is the approach with the strongest evidence behind it and because it produces a dog that offers behaviour willingly instead of one that shuts down.

You will not find choke chains, prong collars, alpha theory or intimidation anywhere in our material.

Why written guides

Video is easy to watch and hard to use. You cannot pause a course, prop your phone on a fence and follow step four while your puppy is mid-jump.

Our guides are written to be used standing up: one exercise per page, the criteria spelled out, the common mistakes listed, and a place to note what happened. Read it on your phone in the garden, or print it and leave it on the kitchen counter.

What we believe

  • Ten minutes a day beats an hour on Sunday. Consistency is the whole game.
  • Plain language. If a paragraph needs a glossary, it is badly written.
  • Honest expectations. We will not promise a perfect dog in seven days. Nobody can.
  • Know the limits. Some problems need a vet or a behaviourist in the room, and we will say so rather than sell you a PDF.

Who we are

Balkan Programs is an independent publisher of digital training programmes, based in Puteaux, France. We are part of a small family of Balkan Programs sites publishing structured, practical self-study material.
